SPSF(Englishーtaught Program)

About SPSF(Englishーtaught Program)

The Sophia Program for Sustainable Futures (SPSF), an English-taught degree program, was established within the Department of Integrated Global Studies in September 2020. This program is a collaborative English-taught course involving six departments: the Department of Education in the Faculty of Integrated Human Sciences, the Department of Sociology in the same faculty, the Department of Economics in the Faculty of Economics, the Department of Journalism in the Faculty of Letters, and the Department of Business Administration in the Faculty of Economics. Students study common courses themed around Sustainable Futures in English. In addition to taking specialized courses offered by their own department, they also take courses from other SPSF departments to earn their degree.
The Department of Global Studies welcomes new SPSF students each fall semester. Students with diverse backgrounds study together, including those who completed their high school education overseas, those educated both in Japan and abroad, those interested in Japanese language learning, and international students.
